A network like no other

When I arrived in New Zealand from the UK in 2021, I knew no one and I worried my small business would struggle. Thanks largely to networking it grew! I went from being a sole trader to a team of four and, more importantly, built a business I genuinely loved running.

But as business got busier, finding time for networking became harder. I visited lots of different groups, finding something I liked in each, but always felt something was missing. Why, when you've got 20–30 business owners in a room, are we not doing more than just exchanging referrals?

I wanted to learn from other business owners, share our expertise and make the challenges of running a business a little easier. And so Orb was born!

In April 2026, I launched the first Orb group with a simple goal, to help business owners grow their businesses, build great relationships and most importantly enjoy the journey along the way.

Kia ora, I'm Lucy, the founder of Orb Networking, and I've built a successful business, mostly through networking. I know it works (and I love it!). But after 5 years of networking, I've seen existing networking groups failing so many of their members. I created Orb to link busy, successful business owners who want results.
