CoreStrength and Turanga Creek FAQs

Are your Pilates classes suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. Pilates can be adapted to suit different ages, fitness levels and abilities. Core Strength offers beginner-friendly classes designed to introduce the fundamentals at a comfortable pace, helping you build strength, stability and confidence as you learn.

Do I need experience before joining a Reformer Pilates class?

If you haven’t used a Pilates Reformer before, Core Strength asks you to complete a one-to-one or duo introductory training session first. This gives you a safe introduction to the equipment and allows the instructor to understand your individual needs before you join a group class.

Can Pilates help with injuries, back problems or rehabilitation?

Pilates can be a useful way to rebuild strength, improve mobility and support rehabilitation because exercises can be adapted to the individual. Rochelle has experience working with clients with a wide range of needs, including injury recovery and mobility work. If you have an injury or medical condition, let the team know before starting so they can help determine the most appropriate approach.

What is the difference between Reformer Pilates and Mat Pilates?

Both focus on controlled movement, core strength, posture and body awareness. Mat Pilates primarily uses your body weight and smaller equipment, while Reformer Pilates uses a specialised machine with adjustable resistance to support or challenge different movements. Core Strength offers both, so you can choose the style that best suits your goals and experience.

Where can I attend Core Strength Pilates classes in East Auckland?

Core Strength has boutique studios in Whitford and Howick, serving clients from across East Auckland, including Howick, Botany, Flat Bush, Ormiston, Beachlands, Maraetai, Clevedon and surrounding areas. The studios offer small, welcoming environments with group and private training options.
