The Other Husband Handyman Services is a family-run handyman and property maintenance business based on the Pohutukawa Coast, proudly helping homeowners and businesses with everything from deck repairs and fence fixes to plaster repairs, TV installs, flat-pack assembly, gutter cleaning, pressure washing, and those never-ending “To Do” lists that somehow keep getting longer every weekend.
After decades in the timber decking industry and years managing large commercial and residential projects — including hotels, renovations, and maintenance work — I decided to create a business focused on reliable workmanship, honest service, and taking the stress out of home maintenance for people.
These days, my son Connor works alongside me on the tools, bringing the younger knees and heavy lifting, while my wife Lauren keeps the back end of the business organized and running smoothly. Together, we’ve built a genuine family business that values hard work, trust, and good communication.
A lot of our work comes from repeat customers and word of mouth, which means a lot to us. We believe people appreciate having someone who actually turns up, communicates properly, works efficiently, and leaves the place cleaner than they found it.
Our slogan is:
“Saving marriages one project at a time.”
And after assembling enough flat-pack furniture over the years… we’re pretty confident there’s some truth to that!
